Welcome to my newsletter, keeping you up to date with what property values are doing on the Hibiscus Coast and in the Rodney area.

During 2014 to 2016, in Auckland’s central suburbs (i.e. handy to transport, jobs & facilities) it has become a seller’s market with sales volumes and prices far exceeding 2007 levels. Auckland’s expanding population and lack of new building over recent years has fuelled the upturn. In late 2016 the Reserve Banks amended loan to value ratios, Auckland’s Unitary Plan and Auckland investors purchasing property in the regions have added further dynamics to the market.

The Hibiscus Coast has seen an average of over 100 sales each month in 2014 to 2016, with an average house sale price rising to the mid to high $800,000s. This activity has been stoked by a steady economy and strong immigration figures, and is underpinned by very low interest rates.

Below are the sales statistics for the last 10 years to show how prices have been tracking.
